St Mary's Church, Ketton and
All Saints' Church, Tinwell
In Tinwell we believe that small is beautiful. We are a small village community, and our Church is quietly traditional, with regular Parish Communion and quiet informal services for reflection. During the year there are opportunities to explore your faith further, as well as occasional special services which draw the village together. We are an open Church family, and you’ll receive a warm welcome.
Our building is open all day every day for you to explore or for personal prayer.
Whoever you are, whatever you think or feel, believe or don’t believe, you are welcome..
History
The present church dates from the 13th century, but it is believed that a Saxon church stood on the site. The tower of All Saints is the oldest part of the present building, with a rare “saddle-back” or gabled roof. The lower has “loopholes”, probably for defensive purposes. This part of the tower is all that remains of an earlier Norman church..
We have a handy guidebook on sale in the Church for £2, also you can find out more here: https://wingfieldfamilysociety.org/churches/all-saints-tinwell/
